Bio-Inspired Optimization & Design

This lecture focuses on the foundations of bio-inspired computation with an emphasis on their application to optimization. The exercises will be oriented towards the implementation of these concepts to realistic applications.

Synthetic Biology

This multi-disciplinary lecture studies a rational engineering for biology, in particular, the design of novel genetic circuits and is divided into four parts. Starting with molecular biology, the lecture provides a broad overview of engineering design principles, systems modeling and analysis, as well as parameter identification and optimization.
